Albrecht Dürer

Albrecht Dürer was a German artist of the Renaissance era. Some of his most famous pieces include Melencolia I and St. Jerome in his Study1. Dürer primarily created woodcuts and engravings, but also worked with paints as well2. In his time, Dürer was famous for his art and was associated with many other Renaissance artists1. Dürer and his works are emblematic of the Northern Renaissance’s values of humanism and realism.
