Gustave Doré

Gustave Doré, a French artist famous for his woodcuts and engravings, is a religious centerpiece of the Sicner mural. Some of his famous works include his illustrations of John Milton’s Paradise Lost, Dante’s The Divine Comedy, and the Bible1. Some of Doré works on the mural include The Dove Sent Forth From The Ark, Moses Breaks the Tablets of the Law, The Confusion of Tongues, and The Giant Antaeus lowering Dante and Virgil.
